What is a save the date card?

A save the date is like a little love note saying, "Mark your calendar, something special is coming!" It’s not the official invite, just a friendly heads-up.

Is a save the date card mandatory?

Nope! But it’s super helpful, especially if guests need to travel or if your event falls in a busy season. They can mark the date in advance.

When should we send out our save the date cards?

Typically 6 to 12 months in advance. Hosting a destination wedding? Send them even earlier.

Does Studio Kiki Elise offer personalised save the date cards?

Absolutely! All text on our save-the-date cards can be customised. If you woud like a different colour scheme, font or a completely unique design, just contact us via our contact form at the end of this page. We will work with you to create something special.

Should we send save the dates by mail or can we do it digitally?

Both work! Mailed cards are classic and fridge-worthy, while digital versions are quick and convenient. Choose what suits you best.

What information should be on the save the date?

Keep it simple:
• Your names (tip: make sure they are consistent with the rest of your stationery)
• The date
• (General) location - optional
• A short note like: “Formal invitation to follow"

What if we change our date later?

Oops! It happens. Just send an update as soon as possible. Either a new card or a "Change the Date" message works perfectly.

Do we need to finalize our guest list before sending save the dates?

Yes, ideally. Everyone who receives a save the date should later receive an official invitation. So make sure your guest list is mostly set.

Tip: order a few extra cards, so you can still send save the dates to guests you add later on.
